You’re a lake-lifer.  I’m a lake-lifer.  We've all been there.  You'll be able to FEEL this...

It’s just starting to rain.  The weather report says to expect a lot of water to come down, which you know will bring the lake level... up.  

You’ve known you needed to move your dock in, but you have been busy so you haven’t made it happen yet!  All too often.... That’s me too.

And then the rain starts and it hits you.  If you don’t do it now, the gangway will be underwater in 24hours and it will be even more painful to move it.  The dock could even get loose in the storm as the water rises and the cables gain slack.  

So you hop on your golf cart and ride down to the shoreline, and begin to jack your gangway up to move the dock.  Then you see it... crap.  It's happened again.  You’ve got a flat tire. 

At this point you’ve got two options basically.  Firstly you could go get an air compressor and try to get the tire to hold air again.  In the rain. 

Alternately, and stubbornly like a dumb donkey, you try to move your dock anyways rolling on the flat tire.  It might work sortof, in the pinch you’re in, but you will regret it.  If you’ve ever done that, you know you’re just making your problem worse later, as you’ll more than likely knock the tire off the bead and it will never hold air again without taking the whole thing off and cleaning/reseating it. 

As you can see this has happened to me too.  

But I decided there had to be a better way.  I know many newer docks are built using the larger diameter, rotomolded, super tough 24 inch plastic dock wheels.   However those require bigger axles than your and my dock came with.  Calling the dock companies brought me back quotes of $900-$1500 to upgrade the axles and fit the wheels.  And in the classic words of "Homie The Clown"....   Homie don’t play that!  

I knew I could design a solution that would solve the problem without that much cost, and like often happens, that solution turned into a product that now helps other lake-lifers, the DIYers and the dock companies to be able to do this more affordably for everyone!

• Tighten the set screws with the included hex key.

• Add the second washer.
• Lock the upgraded Eagle Dock Wheel in place with the cotter pin.
